Celebrating Regional Excellence

people Jun 09, 2025

The 2025 Western NSW Business Awards shone a light on the talent, tenacity and innovation of our region’s small business community.

The very best of Western NSW’s business community was on show at the 2025 Western NSW Business Awards, with a vibrant gala evening held at Dubbo RSL Club. With over 200 business leaders in attendance, the night was a celebration of innovation, resilience, and community spirit across the region.

Topsoil Organics, a Forbes-based enterprise with a strong focus on sustainability and regenerative agriculture, took out the coveted title of 2025 Business of the Year. The judges commended their ambitious approach to environmental innovation and their contribution to local economic development through initiatives like the Central West Nutrient Return Centre and the soon-to-launch Regional Regenerative Energy Hub.

But it wasn’t just the big players in the spotlight.

Mudgee’s own Pebbly Path, founded by the ever-creative Tash Davis, was named winner of Excellence in Micro Business - a well-deserved recognition for her passion, ingenuity, and commitment to creating joyful, quality treats with a unique regional flair.

Pebbly Path’s handcrafted rocky road and artisan sweets have become local favourites, with the brand growing steadily while staying true to its small-batch values.

Adding another local connection to the evening, Rebecca Saunders, Editor of Mid-Western Living Magazine, took to the stage as Master of Ceremonies. Her role brought warmth and professionalism to the night, guiding attendees through each inspiring moment and celebrating the achievements of finalists from across the region.

This year’s awards featured winners from Forbes, Bathurst, Mudgee, Lithgow, Orange and Dubbo - showcasing the diverse and dynamic nature of Western NSW’s business community. With challenges still present for many regional businesses, the evening served as a powerful reminder of the resilience, creativity, and community spirit that define our region.

Winners from the night will now go on to represent Western NSW at the State Business Awards in October - with strong hopes that the region will again shine on the statewide stage.
