Mid-Western Mentoring

community people wellbeing Sep 22, 2025

A transformative leadership journey for local business owners returns in 2026 – and it’s more powerful than ever.

If you believe your business has more potential and you’re ready to take it to the next level the 2026 Mid-Western Mentoring Program might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.

Founded by Pearl Daly-Swords, Managing Director of the Centre for Executive Development (CED), the program is a purpose-driven leadership initiative tailored for business owners across the Mid-Western Region. With over 20 years’ experience in HR and Learning & Development, Pearl is passionate about paying forward the guidance she’s received throughout her career.

“I’ve had many incredible mentors over the years. I wanted to give local business owners the opportunity to experience effective mentorship and ongoing professional development,” Pearl shares.

After a successful pilot in 2021 and a strong follow-up in 2022, the program took a short hiatus - but now it’s back, and applications for the 2026 intake are opening soon.

What to Expect in 2026
The Mid-Western Mentoring Program runs from March to November and offers over 40 hours of tailored professional development. At its core is a one-on-one mentoring relationship – matching each participant (mentee) with a tenured business leader from the region.

Participants also benefit from:
Monthly mentoring sessions (minimum 1 hour)
A business fundamentals series delivered by local experts on strategy, marketing, HR, finance, legal, tech and more
Executive Coaching sessions with Pearl Daly-Swords
Networking and collaboration opportunities
Fireside Chats with distinguished local business owners
Peer learning through Mentee Circles and Mentor Masterminds
A Graduation Ceremony to celebrate growth and achievement
While the core elements are structured, the program is designed to flex around your business needs – making it a practical and valuable addition to your year.

What Past Participants Are Saying
Past mentees speak highly of the program’s blend of professional and personal development. Many shared that they built lasting friendships and support networks, while also stepping outside their comfort zones to grow as leaders. The structure and encouragement created a space where they could learn, network, and be inspired by other passionate business owners. Several noted that being in the same room as accomplished local mentors - who generously shared their experience and knowledge - was “priceless.” The confidence and clarity they gained continued long after the program concluded.

Why Mentors Love Getting Involved
Mentors, too, found the experience rewarding. Many described it as a meaningful way to give back to the local business community, while also connecting with other leaders in the region. Several commented on the energy, creativity and potential they witnessed during the mentor sessions, and the satisfaction of playing a small part in someone else’s business journey. It was, in their words, “a brilliant experience” and a reminder of the value of collaboration and shared wisdom.

Get Involved
If you’re ready to take your business further with guidance, inspiration and local support - now is the time to step up.
