Following a change of ownership in late 2024, one of Mudgee’s original motels has been thoughtfully reimagined into a boutique destination that blends comfort, style and authentic regional charm.
Reopened as The Cudgee at Mudgee, the property now features beautifully refurbished rooms, landscaped gardens and a refreshed pool area, creating a modern take on the classic country motel. Set against peaceful paddocks on the edge of town, guests can enjoy a tranquil rural setting just minutes from Mudgee’s cafés, wineries and attractions.
The refurbishment focused on natural, chemical-free materials, Australian-made furnishings, cork flooring for year-round comfort and sound insulation, and a curated collection of Australian artwork, including pieces by local Mudgee artists.
A recently acquired liquor licence has also elevated the guest experience, with every room now featuring a minibar stocked with local favourites including wines from Lowe Family Wine Co. and Bunnamagoo Estate Wines, craft beers from Mudgee Brewing Co., and gourmet treats from Spencer & Cocoa, Pebbly Path and Murrungundy Pistachios.
The Cudgee is also one of Mudgee’s dog-friendly accommodation options, welcoming guests travelling with their four-legged companions.
