Loft Mudgee has become a sanctuary for local artisans and lovers of unique, handcrafted pieces. What began as a simple idea to step out of a home office and explore a passion for pottery has flourished into a vibrant community hub.

Owner Kim Towell, a bookkeeper for over 30 years, moved to Mudgee in 2016 from Wollongong. When her youngest son left home, she found herself searching for something to fill her time - leading her to discover pottery. What started as a hobby quickly turned into something more, and when Loft Mudgee became available, Kim saw an opportunity to turn her newfound passion into something special.

“I wanted a space to showcase my pottery, run workshops, and see if there was a market for handmade ceramics,” Kim shares. 

The store has since evolved into a home for local artisans, providing them with a platform to showcase and sell their work while giving the community and visitors a way to support locally made products. And it’s also given Kim the chance to collaborate with her daughter, Tori - something the duo had always dreamed of doing.

Loft Mudgee’s thoughtfully curated range includes handcrafted pottery, homewares, giftware, and brands like Koala Eco and Leif, alongside eclectic pieces that reflect Kim and Tori’s unique style.
